We’re back after our big week of appointments! After the first one on Tuesday, all we could think was…”Well, I guess God thinks we need more practice in patience”. And before I share any more, let me just say, we both whole heartedly trust God’s perfect timing. We know that He goes before us and He already knows what the path ahead will look like. We are trying our best to rest in that right now
Long story short, here is the plan. The new EP doc does want Jake to get the ablation done within the next few weeks. He will start on the inside of the left ventricle and if he has to go to the outside of the heart, he will (chances are good that this will have to happen). He let us know that the success rate is really only about 50% – not the greatest odds but not terrible. There are many factors to that, one being that the heart wall may just be too thick and he won’t be able to reach the spot(s) that need cauterized. If it ends up being successful though, great! Jake will get a little bit of a break from all of the symptoms he’s experiencing. If it’s not successful the next step will be to list him for the transplant.
Before the ablation can happen, they will do some more testing to check the current condition of his heart – an echocardiogram and a right heart cath. If they find that his overall heart function has decreased significantly, they will likely bypass the ablation and go straight to listing him for transplant. Testing starts next week!
We left the final appointment on thursday with alllll the feelings. We decided to do our usual post-appointment lunch date and debrief. As you can see, there are many different ways this could go, so pizza felt like the next right thing LOL! Ultimately, it all comes down to the fact that we can make all the plans in the world but, again, only the Lord knows how it will all work out!

Thanks again for being here with us! -Jake and Brie
