Yesterday while we were at our son’s football practice, we got the phone call that Jake’s presentation went really well! The committee *would* have accepted him but they found there was one important detail that both teams missed in the evaluation process. And because of that, Jake’s transplant has been deferred. This is not a decline, which we are grateful for, but he just has to wait a bit longer. Everything has been taken care of as of this morning and now we wait til the END OF SEPTEMBER (😩🤯) for him to be re-presented.
There’s so many details I could share, but we are choosing to fix our eyes on Jesus and when we allow ourselves to wallow in the “what if’s” and “what about?” or the “how come they didn’t…” it’s all too easy to forget that this whole process is already laid out and orchestrated by the God who created the heavens and the earth.
And as believers, we can rest in this truth:
“And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.”
Romans 8:28 ESV
This waiting period is NOT what we expected, nor was the detail that was missed, however, God’s timing is perfect. When we start to complain about waiting, we are exhibiting our lack of trust in Him. If we are going to sit here and say that we believe God has already handpicked a heart for Jake, then we sure as heck need to trust that this waiting period will not change that 🩵

Prayers for all of you continue. Love you all so much. 🙏❤️
