🫀Heart transplant evaluation – day 1 complete!✔️
On Thursday Jake, Carly, Emelye, and I spent the whole day at the transplant center and met the team (including the surgeon that will actually perform the surgery!! 🤯)! They asked us to bring a couple people from our support team to be extra ears and to show them that Jake does, in fact, have a support system (and boy, does he!!). We had a massive amount of info thrown at us and it’s taken a couple days to soak it all up. They spoke on everything we need to know pre-transplant as well as what to expect post-transplant. Overwhelming would be an understatement lol But as we’ve had a couple days to process, I can confidently say that not only is Jake so, so, SO worth the effort, but we have a good and faithful God who will equip us and our family and friends on this wild road ahead.

Day 2 of the eval process is scheduled for the end of August, then the following week (the first week of September) the committee will gather and make a decision on whether to list him or not – from what we’re understanding, they will likely list him at a low priority until he has another VT episodes or a significant decline being as he’s mostly stable right now.
